If you are ever in Miami, FL (not South Beach, because those are actually two different cities) you have to make sure to make a pit stop in Wynwood a.k.a Design District and check out the sick art there. There is soooo many cool art around the neighborhood that you might just want to take a picture of it. However, make sure you do so soon. Unfortunately, because of the heavy construction, commercialization and retailers that have opened in the area, several of the art galleries in the neighborhood are moving :(. Hopefully the street art remains but that is still to be determined.
The Outfit Details:
It was a tank-top and jeans kinda day for me. I did have an early start so I pulled out the jacket but honestly by the afternoon it was a warm 84 degrees. However, by the evening it’s set to be “cool” so I’ll keep the jacket with me, just in case I need it. I added the shoes for a an extra “kick in my step” and because I practically use any excuse to wear leopard. However, this is one of those outfits that you can pretty much wear just about any pair of shoes and the outfit will still look good.
Today I bring you the midi dress I got at Target for $17.99 on clearance! Yes, ladies and gentlmen off the rack ( if we can say this considering target’s clothes are already cheap). I have to admit though, I did buy the dress about a size too big but it was the last one and I just couldn’t help myself; besides, it doesn’t fit too big so I’ll have it taken in. This is a very comfortable dress and I am surprised I did not see it before; either way, I am glad I didn’t because I got it for a very small amount. I also splurged on another few items while at Target. I was able to find the python pencil skirt from the Altuzarra collection for $10.58 and the sheer bow tie top for $8.99 ( score)!
I had been on the hunt for the perfect Midi dress and this one fit the bill. I love the material of the dress, it’s not “bandage” where it hugs every nook and cranny that you want to hide, it actually hugs your curves and hides the “love handles” lol. The print is the second reason why I wanted this dress. I love a good floral print and I love it even more if I can wear the print and/or piece year round. I accessorized with a pair of oxblood shoes because I wanted that color to stand out from the floral print and paired it with a nice blush bag. I kept the jewelry to a minimum because you don’t really much when the dress is this gorgeous.
My boyfriend and I have VERY different taste. His style is very subtle, “tranquil” with a hint of color. That is the best way I can describe his style, lol. Mine, it’s more like all over the place. I do not stick to one color, trend, shade, style “type”; I just go with whatever mood I happy to be on that particular day.
Every night, I prep my clothes for the next day because this saves me a lot of time in the morning. I normally try things on, to make sure they fit or look like how I want it too ( since I plan outfits in my head, sometime it looks better in my head loll). I walked out of the closet and I ask my boyfriend ( expect a reaffirmation that the outfit is ok for work) “What do you think aboutthis for work tomorrow?” Now, I only asked because I like his second opinion when it comes to work. I work at a real estate office and although it is usually only me in the office, I want to make sure that my outfit isn’t “too much” for work, since I can get carried away sometimes, lol lol. He looked at me from head to toe and said, “the shoes are too much; it looks like you’re going out, out” ( his words I promise) Man was I disappointed for half a second. I then replied, ” the shirt is appropriate and so the shirt, I’m wearing the darn shoes.” He then said, “well, I think the shoes are too much.” As I walked away, I turned and said, ” sometimes, you just have to let the shoes do all the talking.” Ha! I wore the darn shoes and the necklace to boot. It was a casual Thursday, the day before Halloween if I may add, why not?

Today it’s all about color blocking and adding that pop of color. This outfit is one of my “splurge”pieces; however, “splurge” means a lot of different things to different people so I’ll explain. I bought this dress at the Gap and from the moment I laid eyes on it, I knew I had to have it so I did. The dress though was $79.95 and that is waaaaaay more than I could spend on one single item. I know, I know….quality over quantity but $80 for a dress is a lot for a college student on a part-time job and budget. Luckily enough though I was able to get this dress half off, so that was my splurge 😉 I love this dress because the “flare” is actually structure, meaning ( if I could explain myself) the flare part will remain “puffy” because of the way it was sewn. So it naturally has that pretty flare. The second thing I loved about this dress is that it makes you look slimming and it really gives your body a nice “hourglass” shape. The fact that it is structured at the top and flared at the bottom really gives it that illusion of a much slimmer tummy. The third and final thing I loved about this dress, the fabric. It is a really nice and thick fabric that will keep you cozy; you can easily transition from fall to winter maybe even to spring but after that to storage. This is way to hot for those hot, muggy and humid summer days.
Sunday, the day that we should take time off from our busy schedules and rest. For me, it was an easy going morning and afternoon. I went to a Seafood Festival where the food was YUUUUMMMM ! Of course if you grow up you on the coast or in an island, you either learn to love or loath seafood. In my case, I love seafood! I can’t get enough of it. The boyfriend and I had an easy afternoon of walking, snapping pics and eating. Now, it’s time for reality and homework it is. I have two semesters to go before graduation and plan on passing every single class left in my curriculum. I am ready lord!
This is an easy outfit, not much that I did to make it stand out as the color is a stand out all on its own. I paired it with strappy, beige/off white ruffled sandals (BTW thrifted brand new with tags at Goodwill for $5.00!) and a vintage cross body ( not shown) Dooney & Bourke bag. I kept my face bare with a bit of gloss and natural eyeshadow.
Ok, so today was a rather strange day. We got “fall” like weather in Miami and I must admit, I was one happy camper. Finally, we have opened our doors to a cool breeze, very low humidity and a “feather weight” chill. It was perfect.
Since the weather was soooo lovely today, the weather inspired my outfit. I decided to sport these black legging jeans from the gap, liquid chunky boots from the gap and a green top I bought at my local Marshall’s. The outfit was cool enough for the breeze but light enough for the heat. If there is one amazing things about this city, is that you need to learn how to dress for it. Our winters are extremely mild (snowbirds don’t even call them winters) and our summers are very hot. I topped this look by picking up my hair and a bold oxford blood lip. I wanted my outfit to represent the dark colors of fall.
This was my Friday OOTD. Which most of the outfit was purchased at Goodwill.
I decided to wear this beautiful skirt from H&M that I found at Goodwill a while back. The skirt was still brand new with the tags. I paid $8.00 for the skirt, score! The shirt is also a Goodwill find, it’s a DKNY shirt and I paid $3.00 🙂 Lucky girl, I know. The clutch was also a Goodwill find and I paid about $3 for it as well.
It was a hot summer day again in Miami so this outfit was more than fitting.
I absolutely love this outfit, it was chic, simple and sweet. I have to admit though, the bangs made it look retro which was another cool factor to this outfit.

It’s the middle of the week and that only means that the weekend is near! For those casual days that when we want to look chic and simple, I like to wear one of my favorite rock band t-shirts, jeans and a nice pair of suede platforms.
I love the simple t-shirts and jeans combo. The best things about this combination is that you can wear it up or down. I wore them a little “up” this time since wearing them with sneakers was just a bit too simple for me.
I was lucky enough to find this shirt at Goodwill for $3.00! The jeans are from Gap, because I just love Gap jeans. I must confess, I only wear Gap jeans *guilty pleasure*. The shoes I can’t get enough of and as I have said before, I bought them at Goodwill as well for $8.00. This outfit cost me a total of $23.00, ( jeans were $11.99). Welp, hope everyone is having a wonderful time.

So, we are all very well aware of the boyfriend jeans and the boyfriend shirts, but what about the boyfriend shorts?! Yes, I rocked my destroyed boyfriend shorts and loved every minute of it. Isn’t it just comfortable to just be able to wear nice looking loose fitted clothing? It just feels so relaxing and for some reason I feel sexy wearing my loose fitting clothing. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I feel comfortable. The shirt is also a “boyfriend shirt” which I must admit is adorable. It is a white on white stripe collar shirt, and the opposite white stripe is almost nude. Definitely my summer favorite shirt at the moment.
In order to make the outfit chic, I added these gorgeous platform pumps (suede) that I recently bought at goodwill, brand new by the way, for only $8.00 bucks! Score! The boyfriend shorts were also bought at goodwill for $5 and the shirt I bought at the gap on sale for $11.99. The whole outfit ( not including the bag) cost $25.00. That’s what I call chic and cheap 🙂
My tote was part of my outfit by default because I was running errands and this is the bag I carry my life in. I carry soooo many things in this bag that I find myself only wearing with this bag. It’s a coach by the way and I bought it about a year ago.
Talk to y’all very soon!
P.S. I have been thinking of having a “thrift finds” section on my blog. Leave feedback below if is something you would like to be interested in reading. Thanks and much love.

I finally wore this dress that was given to me on my birthday by a dear friend of mine.Yes, it’s as perfect as I thought it would be. I wore this to go thrift store shopping and run errands on a very HOT summer day here in Miami. I have to say it’s a very nice dress and perfect for the weather.
I also, *suprise surprise* got a new hair cut. Yup, I got bangs this weekend and I retouched my ombré. I kind of hated the bangs at first (I have to admit) but I have warmed up to them as the days have gone by; because I have curly hair so my coils curl really bad. Anyway, I am warming up to it very slowly.
