Today, I borrowed a few tips from the boys. I love menswear – the suits, the jackets, the blazers, the pants, the shoes…I can go on and on. The top really inspired this look because the bow really makes it seems as if I were wearing a tie as opposed to a knot made on the shirt. Once I put the top on and made the bow, I knew that I was going to be wearing my high-waisted gingham pants. It is the perfect piece to wear with this gorgeous top. This is a nice subtle yet chic way of borrowing pieces from the boys without looking too masculine. I kept the outfit simple by wearing black heels, a black clutch & a black coat ( it’s been chilly). In order to give it that extra “POW” I side swept my curls and wore a bold red lip.
I love how this outfit came out nicely because it reminds me of the 50’s – back when women wore high-waisted pants, gorgeous hair and red lips. The pants look extremely slimming and the top is just the perfect piece that really makes this outfit standout. I recently purchased this top from Loft by Ann Taylor ( outlet ) as they were having a huge sale. The pants are also from Ann Taylor but these were purchased at goodwill and I have a feeling these probably date back a few years.
Outfit total: $50.00 (<- A complete coincidence lol)
- Top: $18.00
- Pants: $3.00
- Shoes: $25.00
- Clutch: $4.00
Happy Fashion.

Those pants are gorgeous! They sit perfectly on your waist, I always struggle to find pants or skirts that sit where they should, so I always appreciate it when I see a pair that do x

Thank you! I do but that’s why I love thrift stores because you can find just about anything as long as you’re willing to give it a try.
